摘要:Ralph Ellison is one of the most famous African-American writers in 20th century.Invisible Man is the only one novel in his whole life,which depicts a young black man searching for identity in a white-dominated society.Through analyzing the protagonist,this essay tries to reflect the Afro-American identity confusion in 20th century and find out its underlying causes from cultural origins.Meanwhile,it concludes the development strategies for black people,which is implied in Ellison’s novel.
