摘要:In 1995, the Yancheng Municipal Bureau of Culture and other institutions excavated an area of 100 sq m on the Neolithic Kaizhuang site. The vestiges revealed include ash-pits and ash-ditches. The objects yielded belong to the stone axe and spade, pottery fu cauldron, ding tripod, gui tripod, pot, jar, vessel cover, dish, dou stemmed vessel, bowl and cup, jade chisel, and bone arrowhead and hairpin. They suggest that the remains of the site can be divided into two successive phases. The early phase goes back to the time roughly from the late Majiabang to the early Songze culture, and the late phase corresponds to the early and mid Liangzhu or the mid and late Dawenkou culture.
