摘要:To exhibit the most important achievements in the Chinese archaeological excavation and study of 2003, and to promote academic exchange, the Archaeology Publications and Institute of Archaeology, CASS, organized the "2003 Academic Forum of New Archaeological Discoveries in China", which was held in Beijing on 9^th January, 2004. The academic lectures at the meeting reported six items of major archaeological results. These are the discoveries of the settlement-site at Xinglonggou in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia; the city-site at Taosi in Xiangfen City, Shanxi; the site and tombs at Daxinzhuang in Jinan City, Shandong; the compound sites of the Han period at Sanyangzhuang in Neihuang, Henan; the Shi tomb of the Northern Zhou period in Xi'an, Shaanxi ; and the Liao period tomb on Turki Hill in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia. In addition, there were accounts of recent advances in archaeolozoological studies. The attendants made deep-going discussions. Reflecting the newest accomplishments in Chinese archaeology, the forum has great importance to the further development of archaeology and related disciplines.
