摘要：In 1997，the Yichang Museum carried out excavation on the Changfutuo site of the Shang period at Maoping Town，and revealed ash-pits，ash-trenches，etc．The objects unearthed include mainly pottery，and also stone，bronze and bone articles．The pottery is represented by curved-rimmed jars，wide-flared-mouthed vats，false-bellied dou stemmed vessels，and pointed-based cups，and the typical decorations are cloud-and-thunder，Kui-dragon，ring and connected-cloud patterns．The finds show local cultural elements as well as influence from the Shang culture in the Central Plains．This is again an important discovery to the archaeology of the Shang period in the western Hubei and Three Gorges area．
