摘要:Chinese negative transfer makes negative effects on English vocabulary acquisition of Chinese high school students, and one of the important reasons is that Chinese is weak marked while English is strong marked. Therefore, it is easy for Chinese high school students to transfer the solidified usage of Chinese words into English when they acquire English words. The thesis analyzes the negative effects of Chinese negative transfer in English lexical morphology acquisition in terms of two categories inflections and derivations according to markedness theory.
