摘要：Xun Kuang was a native of the State of Zhao （in today' s Anze County). He was a great materialist thinker and Confucian scholar during the later Warring Period on an intellectual par with Mencius.Today Xun Kuang's writings survive in a work known as The Xunzi which contains 32 chapters. These works, written mostly by Xun Kuang himself,deal with such fields as philosophy, logic,politics and moralily.He was against the belief of the mandate of heaven and blind worship of the supernatural. He maintained that natural rule was independent of the will of human beings and that man could prevail over heaven.
